Technology Trends That Will Shape 2022 and beyond – AI, Big Data, Connected Devices IoT, Cloud, Drones, and Metaverse

The quick adoption of digital technologies in 2020 and 2021 has been remarkable. Technologies, such as predictive analytics, the internet of things [IoT], artificial intelligence [AI], and automation are enriching people’s lives.

These technologies are also bringing in massive changes within every sector. Virtualization and digitalization of society and business are constantly taking place. Due to such reasons, many brands, including the Eelink IoT device manufacturers, are looking for ways to expand the area of information technology. This is mainly because of the massive amount of potential it has in-store.

Here, in this article, you will learn about some key trends on the NB IoT deviceAI, and various other technologies, which will dominate in 2022. They are:

  1.     Metaverse

Dubbed as the “Tomorrow of the Internet,” Metaverse is expanding rapidly. It’s a virtual reality where people worldwide can communicate with each other. This helps in opening the door to a much stronger and more pragmatic experience.

Just like the NB IoT device, the metaverse keeps developing. This will help the technology to grow ubiquitous through numerous cross-chain likelihoods. It will also become the next edge for all online communication, which can transform how communication specialists market their services and products.

Augmented and virtual reality, cryptocurrencies, and video games are converting into metaverse adjacent. This is because the virtual realm is receiving more momentum.

  1.      Cloud

COVID-19 has forced many firms to bet on resiliency and digital transformation. It has also enforced remote working with:

  •    Contactless shipping and delivery.
  •    Videoconferencing.
  •    Online education.
  •    Virtual doctor visits through telemedicine.
  •    VR/AR-based education.

These things exploded pretty quickly, and the businesses got the power to meet all the unexpected demands through the scalability provided by Clouds. Experts have predicted that about 47% of the employees will work remotely in 2022.

  1.     Connected Devices IoT

Trends in edge computing, which is an architecture pattern, are bringing computing way closer to devices and users. 5G enhances the NB IoT device capabilities because it’s the next-generation cellular connectivity.

A change towards supply chain tracking, smart cities and connected homes, usage of IoT connected devices, and autonomous mobility has pushed the 5G and 6G internet technology. In 2021, there will be over 10 billion active IoT connected devices, and these numbers will surpass 25 billion by 2030.

The global spending on IoT connected devices will reach $15 trillion in 2025, and the IoT solutions will generate $4 trillion to $11 trillion by the same time. The Eelink IoT device manufacturers have said that the vast expansion of the 5G network system will reach over 200 million individuals across the globe.

  1.     Flying Cars and Drones

An electric aviation firm from Northern California completed an outstanding 150-mile flight back in July 2021. The company conducted 1000 test flights, and they are confident that they will launch an air tax service by 2024 for commercial operations.

Companies like Toyota have invested in this particular firm, and it also acquired the flying taxi division of Uber. The steered taxi can travel up to 200 mph with a range of over 150 miles and carry 4 passengers.

  1.     Big Data

Like the IoT-connected devices, the Big Data one is also experiencing some changes. In 2020, many data lakes transformed into Cloud-native rather than the classic Hadoop-based. Many cloud-native companies are talking about the boom in this particular space. Companies like Firebolt have already secured their funding of $37 million way back in December 2020.

The Eelink IoT device manufacturers have said that just like in the IoT sector, there will be a lot more power towards the cloud-native data lakes in the coming future.

Apart from that, the year 2020 also got to witness a massive decline in Hadoop usage. Merging with Hortonworks did not immensely help Cloudera compared with the cloud-native technologies that subjugated the Big Data realm.

Cloudera is also providing platforms on some of the leading Cloud providers. They also offer the “on-perm” option to divide storage from aligning and processing with various other cloud-native architectures.

  1.     Artificial Intelligence [AI]

From searching something on Google, unlocking phones with face ID, displaying relevant content on social and enabling voice search smartphones, AI is becoming a part of a person’s daily life.

In 2020, the AI venture capital investment slowed down due to COVID-19. But the NB IoT device manufacturers have said that the impact of artificial intelligence has not changed one bit during the pandemic. An Italian AI company and a Canadian startup found evidence on COVID-19 right before it turned into an epidemic. An epidemic is a stage before a pandemic.

How did that happen? The Eelink IoT device manufacturers have pointed out that these companies used AI-built software. This helped them search through the web, from emergency calls and hospital data to social media posts, to identify the outbreaks.

The AI small businesses raised around $26.6 billion back in 2019. This is an increase from $22.1 billion in 2018. In 2020, the year began with a small momentum of $8.4 billion funding during the 1st quarter. But during the 2nd quarter, the AI funding dropped to $7.22 billion.

 Final Thoughts

Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted people to homes, OTT, online shopping, and various other things, that didn’t stop the innovation from occurring. Companies came up with new inventions to help people survive this pandemic.

The trends provided in this article will provide you with information on the changes that took place and will take place in the area of technology. It will also give you an idea of what you can expect from such changes.
